I work with acquisitions, transformations and turnarounds in mid-market tech businesses — mostly EdTech and vertical software. I’ve led P&Ls from £10M to £100M, integrated multiple acquisitions, and built teams from 30 to 400 people.
Turnarounds sharpen how you think. When a business is struggling, you learn quickly what actually matters. The P&L can lie. Activity isn’t progress. Most problems turn out to be system problems, not people problems.
I’ve found most progress stems from the combination of four disciplines:
- strategy: creating enduring value and advantage
- numbers: measuring, interpreting and acting on information
- action: turning decisions into results
- prediction: learning and updating beliefs
This site is an attempt to make that thinking visible — to myself first, and to others navigating similar challenges.
